Sports Infrastructure Management Board of Krakow (SIMB) is an independent organizational unit of the Municipality of Krakow without legal entity operating as isolate budget unit subject directly to the Mayor of Krakow.
SIMB is the first of the kind unit in Poland including in its scope of activity a wide range of competencies of nearly all sports areas in terms of statutory responsibilities of the Municipality.

Goals of the activity

  • expansion of the sports base in Krakow,
  • maintenance of the existing base on the highest level,
  • promoting sports and active ways of spending free time among the inhabitants of Krakow,
  • organizing sports events.

Sports Infrastructure Management Board of Krakow implements the My sports field – ORLIK 2012 programme as part of which 14 modern of sports field centres have been built until now for the inhabitants of Krakow.

SIMB organizes large sports events, among others Cracovia Marathon, The Three Mounds’ Run and co-organizes the last stage of the cycling race Tour de Pologne – finish in Krakow.

SIMB administers a modern Internet platform which is a comprehensive source of information on sports, recreation, sports facilities base as well as on sports events taking place in Krakow useful both for tourists and the inhabitants of Krakow.

An interactive map has been created on the company website with all municipal sports facilities in Krakow. The site gives also other important information on the activity of the unit, including details of sports investments and organized tenders.

On 18 June 2014, the Sports Infrastructure Management Board in Kraków (Public Entity) running the procedure “Selection of the private partner for the implementation of the project 'Sport and Recreation Centre at ul. Eisenberga in Kraków'" sent an invitation to the Candidate with which negotiations had been carried on for almost half a year.

Negotiations with the Candidate concerning the procedure for selection of the private partner for the implementation of the project “Sports and Recreation Centre at ul. Eisenberga in Kraków” were finished. The negotiations that took place from November 2013 till May 2014 comprised 6 negotiation rounds, during which technical, legal and financial aspects of the project were discussed.
